ROAD REST? Definition: Replenishing Every Step Taken? while away from home

How to apply the definition?

  1. Journal your daily thoughts and actions, and contemplate what you have written.
  2. Pay attention to what creates a sense of peace in your heart and mind
  3. Integrate ROAD REST Tips as you travel through your day

Principles of ROAD REST

  1. Road rage must be acknowledged as a personal problem and a choice
  2. Faith, belief, desire, and a made up mind is necessary to change
  3. Jesus must be acknowledged as the RESTGIVER
  4. Spiritual, discerning support is essential, preferably from a REST Coach
  5. Commitment to reign over your emotions is a requirement
  6. ROAD REST success is learning, internalizing, using and sharing the REST program
  7. REST is maintained by making prayer, practice, prevention and accountability a priority

ROAD REST TIPS:

  1. Have a personal conversation with God, ask Him to help you REST
  2. Drink water instead of sugar or caffeine beverages
  3. Use earplugs or earphones to minimize noise when you are RESTing
  4. Listen to soothing music (like the REST in the Storm CD?)
  5. Eat cleansing, easily digestible food (see the REST FAST? for suggestions)
  6. Read soothing uplifting books
  7. Take breaks from your routine (Attend a RESTSHOP Retreat? or REST Robbers Seminar?)
  8. Lie down, quiet your mind, and the REST will follow
  9. Cover your eyes with warm or cool cloths
  10. Say nice things about yourself in a low soothing tone of voice
  11. Stretch frequently
  12. Stroll leisurely and enjoy the scenery
  13. Turn off beepers, telephones, computers, loud music and your own negative thoughts
  14. Massage your temples and get full massage as often as possible
  15. Use triggers (the REST Ensemble?) to signal your mind when it is time to REST
  16. Take a warm soothing bath or at least soak your fingers and/or your feet in warm water
  17. Take deep cleansing breaths of fresh air, in through your nose and out through your mouth
  18. Add a soothing scent (try the Sacred REST Fragrance?) to the air in your space.
  19. Meditate on your favorite, inspirational scripture (The REST Is Up To YOU! Meditation Journal?)
